BECOME A PARAMEDIC
Paramedics are said to be the eyes, ears, and hands of the emergency room physician. They differ from Emergency Medical Technicians in the fact that paramedics have received additional advanced training to perform more difficult pre-hospital medical procedures. Paramedic job functions include:
- Administering medications
- Advanced cardiac life support
- Basic trauma life support
- Chest decompression
- Cricothyrotomy
- Pediatric life support
- Tracheal intubation
- Venous cannulation (IVs)
