Lackawanna College is a private, non-profit educational institution providing opportunities for career and personal development within selected associate degree, certificate, and continuing education programs. Their many programs include criminal justice, business, and human services. 95% of students on campus receive some form of financial aid. Financial aid is available for those that qualify. Lackawanna College has also been named a military friendly school and has benefits offered to active military and veterans. All full-time students who do not commute daily from home must reside in campus housing while actively enrolled in college courses. Career services are available include, job search, resume workshops and a writing center.

Lackawanna College is approved by the Pennsylvania State Department of Education to grant associate degrees and is accredited by the Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, which is designated as a National Accrediting Agency by the U.S. Office of Education.
